| On Thursday 3-12-26, shortly after the members of WRFD had concluded an evening of training, Ridge Fire Department requested mutual aid from WRFD for a ladder and and an engine to respond to the scene of a "working" residential structure fire. WRFD Ladder4 (6-3-4) and Tanker 2 (6-3-2) were responding within minutes, followed by Chief of Department Thomas Whelan (6-3-30). WRF District Paramedic (6-3-80) also responded to provide "cyano kits" to the Ridge FD medics. Ladder 4 was the 1st due truck and due to numerous trees in the front yard, positioned themselves in the driveway of the home so they would have access to the house. Ladder 4's crew went to work inside the home conducting a search and opening up the ceiling as the fire was in the attic. Ladder 4 was set up to the roof and a team was sent to investigate andprovide vertical ventilation. Tanker 2's crew arrived and provided manpower at the front door. Ridge FD made an aggressive interior attack and knocked down the fire quickly. |
