From the NYS DEC:

Based on the latest National Weather Service forecast, we are mobilizing for prescribed fire operations on Monday, March 18, 2024. We will be targeting grasslands for habitat management at NYS-DEC’s Otis Pike Pine Barrens State Forest, Town of Riverhead, Suffolk County in the Wading River Fire District. We’ll be working the northern field east of State Route 25A, south of Hulse Landing Road.

Please use caution in the area of NYS RT25-A and NYS RT25.
