On Friday, December 18, William Fields, from Apple Honda appeared at the Wading River Fire Department’s Stuff-A-Bus and donated $400.00 to the food drive. The Stuff-A-Bus program was chosen as the First Responder of the Month. Fifty dollars was donated for every car sold on Friday, December 11. President of the WRFD Association, Mike Hammer, accepted the check and thanked the employees and management of Apple Honda for caring so much about the food drive. “This donation will go a long way to help us reach our goal, by New Year’s.”

For more than 20 years, members of the WRFD have stood outside of King Kullen on weekends in December, collecting nonperishable food for the food pantries of all the local churches of Wading River, Shoreham and Rocky Point and even a needy church in Riverhead.

However, due to COVID restrictions, WRFD can not assemble outside of King Kullen this Holiday Season. They are asking people who donated in the past to drop off nonperishable food to the bus, which is located at the Fire Headquarters, 1503 North Country Road (east of the Duck Ponds). The food will be delivered to local families in need.

If you are unable to deliver food items to the bus, then call (631) 886-0122 and leave a message. We will come by and pick-up the items. Help WRFD Stuff - the - Bus!
