On Monday June 29, 2020 at approximately 1221hrs the Department responded to Randall Rd., Wading River for a Residential Structure Fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters located an active fire in a solar panel on the roof of the garage with fire extension into the attic area. The solar panels were de energized allowing firefighters to quickly extinguish the fire preventing further damage to the structure.
Several neighboring fire departments responded to the scene and provided stand by coverage.
At the completion of the assignment no injures were reported and the scene was turned over to the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals Office for further investigation.
All units were back in service at 1335hrs.
