On Friday May 22, 2020 at approximately 1538hrs the Department responded to Farm Road West, Wading River for a reported Residential Structure Fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions from a two story private dwelling and performed an aggressive interior attack to allow search teams to check the structure for any occupants. During the search of the residence a cat was rescued from the second floor and removed without incident.
The fire was quickly extinguished with the assistance of several mutual aid fire departments. Extensive overhaul of the structure was completed to expose any additional pockets of fire.
At the completion of the incident no injures were reported and the scene was turned over to the Riverhead Fire Marshals Office for further investigation.
All units were back in service at 1750hrs.
