On Thursday May 7, 2020 at approximately 1818hrs the Department responded to the Shoreham Power Plant reference an active fire in a generator.
Upon arrival, firefighters utilized numerous dry chemical extinguishers and stretched a foam handline from Engine 1. The fire was quickly extinguished with the assistance of National Grid.
At the completion of the assignment the scene was turned over to the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals Office for further investigation.
All units were back in service at 1952hrs.
