On Saturday evening June 10, 2017 The Wading River Fire Department was activated for a

Water Rescue. The rescue involved two overturned Kayaks 1-2 miles off of Wildwood State Park,

a half mile apart from each other. In coordination with Riverhead PD and Suffolk County PD

Aviation, Wading River Boat 6-3-18B was swiftly directed to the vessels by Wading River

Command. Recovery of both vessel and occupants, alive and well, was quickly accomplished.

The Kayaks and mariners were brought safely to shore by Wading River Fire Departments Boat

Rescue Team. Wading River Emergency Medical personnel were standing by to evaluate and treat

the rescued mariners.
