Legal Notice - Notice to Bidders Vehicle Exhaust Upgrades at Headquarters and Station Two

Notice is hereby given that SEALED PROPOSALS for:
WADING RIVER FIRE DISTRICT
VEHICLE EXHAUST UPDGRADES AT HEADQUARTERS & STATION #2
1503 N. COUNTRY ROAD
WADING RIVER, NEW YORK 11792

Will be received until 4:00pm prevailing time on Friday March 23, 2018, at the Office of the Wading River Fire District Commissioners, located at 1503 N. Country Road, Wading River, New York 11792.

Bids shall be publicly opened and read at the Office of the Wading River Fire District Commissioners on Monday March 26, 2018 at 7:00pm.

A Compact Disc (CD) containing electronic files including the Contract Documents [Construction Drawings, Project Manual with Specifications, Agreement between Owner and Contractor, and the Conditions of the Contract (General, Supplementary and other Conditions)] may be obtained upon the deposit of Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00), check made payable to the WADING RIVER FIRE DISTRICT, at the office of the District Architect, H2M Architects + Engineers, D.P.C., 538 Broad Hollow Road, Fourth Floor East, Melville, New York 11747. Deposits of bidders will be returned upon return of the Compact Disc in good condition within ten (10) days following the bid date.

One full set of printed documents that are contained on the Compact Disc are available to bidders for a non-refundable purchase price of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for the first set and Seventy-Five Dollars ($75.00) for each additional set. Non-refundable checks for sets of printed documents are to be made payable to the WADING RIVER FIRE DISTRICT.

Bid documents may be obtained beginning Friday February 23, 2018 at 12PM.

Bids must be made in the standard proposal form in the manner designated therein and as required by the Specifications that must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the job and name and address of the bidder on the outside, addressed to: WADING RIVER FIRE DISTRICT, clearly marked on the outside: Bid For: Vehicle Exhaust Upgrades at Headquarters & Station #2.

Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the WADING RIVER FIRE DISTRICT, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Certification of bonding company is required for this bid, see I instructions for Bidders section.

Each bidder shall agree to hold his/her bid price for forty-five (45) days after the formal bid opening.

A pre-bid meeting and walk thru is scheduled for Friday March 2, 2018 at 10:00am. Potential bidders are asked to gather at the site, at which time they will be escorted to the area of work. This meeting is not mandatory; however, it is highly recommended that all potential bidders attend.

It is the Board of Fire Commissioners intention to award the contract to the lowest qualified bidder who can meet the experience, technical and budget requirements. The Board of Fire Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Board of Fire Commissioners, is in the best interests of the District.

Bids include all costs associated with the project. By submitting a bid, the bidder represents that they are familiar with the site and project conditions. Additionally, prior to submitting its bid, Contractor shall make Architect and Owner aware of any problems and/or inconsistencies in the bid documents.
